I liked Blade and Lara. They had great chemistry. Although here seemed to be a spanking scene at very turn, and after the first anal scene, that seemed to be a theme also, it was still a good story.

The absolute BEST part of this book for me was Blade's fighting scene at the compound. The dude was awesome! There was some tension around Dog's situation.

The storyline was pretty good, and the medical treatments were interesting. Blade didn't believe he deserved to be happy and Lara had every intention of returning to Earth. Everyone got their HEA in the end.
Renee always writes great and varied plots. I only had to read the first chapter before I knew I had to have this book. The heroine is a little headstrong and obstiinant, but that's what helps set up the some of the interactions between her and the hero. I pretty much like all her stories, but I particularly like stories about aliens. And this one not only has aliens but a lot of action & adventure as well. Also she puts all her books out pretty fast too! I don't know where she gets the discipline to keep her nose to the grindstone so much. (Too bad of a pun?)

Anyway, grab a copy and see how good it is for yourself.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I was very happily surprised. The story had a interesting plot, it moved along at a good pace, and the character transitions were very satisfying. Great world building. Loved the sex scenes. I have re-read this story several times. I keep hoping that if I wish for him strongly enough, I can get a man (mostly) like Blade to materialize. I would also like to note that this book was well edited. So many of these books have incredibly poor editing, which rips me out of the story, so I found this one very refreshing. Strongly recommended.
Dr. Lara Simmons was with a group of doctors who were on a humanitarian mission to the planet of Jesel which was on the brink of civil war, but with inhabitants who were suffering from increasing earthquakes. She was working on a patient when the lights went off, and she found herself kidnapped by the rebel faction who needed her to operate on their leader, the deposed president. Blade was in charge of getting her to the rebel base, but the ship was hit by fire from the now-ruling faction, and crashed. Lara ran thinking she could get back to the city where she was kidnapped from. Blade followed her, eventually caught her but you will have to read this story to see what happens and how the two learned to work together to survive the dangerous animals now after them in the wilds of Jesel...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy, but also bought the book....
Dr. Lara Simmons, an Earth woman, is kidnapped to perform a difficult surgery on the leader of the rebels of a war-torn planet. Although she is professionally proud of the fact that she is only one of 5 surgeons who can perform this surgery, she is scared out of her mind to be involved in this rebellion in outer space.

Blade Vengeance use to be a slave, and when the mine guards killed his sister, he flipped out, and started killing everyone. He eventually went from settlement to settlement freeing all the captives and leading the rebellion (shades of Braveheart). Even though Blade is a legend, he has turned the rebellion over to someone he respects, as he is a loner who gets it done "his way". Blade comes from a race of people that believe in male domination/female submission, and he hands out discipline at the drop of a hat. Once Blade kidnaps Dr. Simmons for the rebel leader, he finds himself starting to feel emotions for the first time since he was 16, but his patience is sorely tested with Lara, an unwilling captive.

I have read a couple of other books (recommend the Bossman series) by Renee Rose, which is why I chose this erotic romance set in a science fiction world. Rose delivers brilliantly with her books, because they are just not erotica. To me, a well-done erotica MUST have a story, a plot, a deep connection between the couple. I won't read erotica that is simply poorly disguised porn. I never have that problem with Rose, although occasionally there may be an overdose of spankings in her books or they skate non-consensual elements. This book was an interesting pleasure. The attachment between Lara and Blade is a beautiful one, especially later in the book when both have admitted their feeling to themselves.

I recommend this book, but caution - numerous spankings (hand and implements), oral sex, anal sex, D/S. Sex remains between the couple.
Or I wish he was! What an honorable warrior. Blade was born into slavery with his twin sister. After watching her being raped and murdered he begins the revolution to regain their freedom from the forces that took over their peaceful planet. The rebels need Dr. Lara Simmons, a renowned surgeon, to save on of their own. After kidnapping her, a subsequent attack on their shuttle by the Republicans leaves them the two of them having to fight for survival to reach the rebels camp. He must discipline the good Doctor, much to her displeasure, in order to keep her safe. She begins to realize that she enjoys being dominated by Blade. When they get back to camp, the doctor jumps right in saving lives. Blade begins to exert more control over her, for her own good, of course. It's an alien love story with a HE A, lots of action, and good old fashioned hot sex. Great read!
